Fight night round 2 gamecube cheats12/4/2023 PS2 (longer and more frequent load times) Final Verdict: Anyway you slice it, Fight Night Round 2 is the best boxing title around. Not a total deal breaker, but slowest of the bunch no-doubt. This is especially noticeable in-between rounds as the Cutman mini game loads up with each boxer. The Xbox and Gamecube versions are equally speedy, and while the PS2 is no slouch, you'll experience longer loading times on Sony's wonder system. Gamecube (less detailed textures, subdued particle effects) Presentation The only noteworthy difference to mention here would be the load times. Otherwise, the Xbox and PS2 titles are surprisingly close in terms of graphical prowess with the Gamecube taking a close, but certain 3rd place. The addition of 480p support really makes quite a difference here. If you own an HDTV, you should pick up the Xbox version. Particle effects on the Gamecube are also a little subdued, and landing punches doesn't result in as much of a satisfying crimson downpour that you'll find on Xbox and PS2. Texture quality is comparable between the Xbox and PS2 however the Gamecube textures look a little muddy, it's more difficult to catch subtle details like body sweat and other cool damage effects that add to the overall experience. You'll find widescreen support across all three platforms, and 480p deliciousness on the Xbox and Gamecube editions. Awesome particle effects, real-time damage, sharply detailed textures, you can't ask for anything more from current generation gaming machines. PS2 & Gamecube (Dolby Pro Logic II) Graphics You haven't seen fighters this detailed since HBO boxing after dark! The detailed graphics in this year's Fight Night are nothing less than a quantum leap above previous iterations. Pro Logic II gets the job done fantastically, but the throaty crackles that resound from each successful haymaker are better suited for the warm tremors Dolby Digital provides. Dolby Digital always seems to lend itself to a more bass-heavy tone, and clearer separation of channels. On Gamecube and PS2, you get more-than- competent Dolby Pro Logic II sound, and on Xbox, in-game Dolby Digital. Gamecube (total punch control gets sloppy on the C-stick) Sound In terms of sound effects and music, you're treated to a love cupcake from Dolby no matter what platform you plan to play on. If you own a PS2 or Xbox, once again the field is quite even it just comes down to preference. It's not an incredible disadvantage, but missing that counter-punch opportunity due to a slip of the stick can certainly lead to some unwarranted knockouts, which leads to unnecessary frustration. This requires some nimble use of the right analog stick, and consequently, the unique C-stick on the Gamecube controller makes pulling off these moves a little difficult. New this year is the ability to throw haymakers, more powerful versions of normal hooks and uppercuts that, if used effectively, can turn the tide of any fight. By mapping your arsenal of punches to the right analog stick, a greater sense of both realism and accuracy has been achieved. Gamecube (no online play) Controls The dual analog control in the Fight Night series has met with great critical acclaim. Everything else in terms of features is even across the board, so the question of course is: do you want to take the fight online, or would you rather feel nostalgic and play a Nintendo Classic during the off-time from career mode. It should be no surprise by now that the Gamecube version is being shipped with absolutely no form of online play in a rather cool attempt at compensating for this missing feature, EA has included the old school, SNES classic Super Punch-Out!! as a bonus for Gamecube owners. Features Fight Night Round 2, it's about more than just punching people in the face now! Being able to hop online and smack around one of your trash-talking, belligerent buddies is an awesome proposition on Xbox and PS2, it's as easy as hooking up that fat network cable and sending a challenge via EA's messenger system. For all of you lucky, multi-console owning pugilists out there, we're about to break it down and decide which version of this hotly anticipated title deserves the champ's belt. IGNPS2's resident heavy-bag trainer and boxing fan, Jeremy Dunham, says that Fight Night Round 2 is the finest boxing simulation every created, and branded the game with a fantastic score of 9/10. None to date have managed to create as much of an accurate representation of the sport as EA's Fight Night Round 2. There have been countless attempts at conveying the lip-busting, kidney rupturing, skull fracturing realism of boxing in video game form.
